Dad’s Little Helper

We are delighted to tell you that we are working with Men and Their Children (MATCH) on a very exciting project.

Working with artist Josef Minta, the group will create a booklet of parenting tips, rhymes, games and signposting for dads. The booklet will be available to help future MATCH families, showcase the importance of reading for pleasure with little ones, build their parenting confidence and to encourage an open dialogue about the struggles of being a dad.

Throughout the project all involved will partake in a range of craft activities and end engage in creative writing exercises which will see them writing postcards to; their past selves before becoming dads, fellow dads or to their child to read in the future about what life is like with them now. 

The group have created a supportive and open environment so it has been possible to share practical tips and to start conversations about the difficulties of fatherhood such as birth trauma and the impact of sleep deprivation.
