Artist Call Out - Park Farm Performers

About the Project

Wonder Arts are delighted to share that we are receiving funding from National Lottery Community Fund to deliver a new project; Park Farm Performers as part of our Communities of Wonder programme of activities.

We are partnering with a group of young people at Park Farm Community Centre, Clinkham Wood estate, St Helens. During consultation, the group have told us they want to explore the theme of sleep and are interested in using a range of performing and visual arts.

The young people have decided they would like to showcase their skills and talents in a cabaret performance for friends and family. We are looking to work with a drama and/or dance practitoner to engage with the group over 12 sessions to co-create this artwork. The final piece should incorporate a vibrant, positive and family-friendly message.  Experience of youth workshop facilitation is essential.

Fee

The fee to deliver this project is £1,750; this includes planning time, workshop delivery and performance. There is a separate materials budget of up to £550 with ethically sourced materials at the heart. .

Timescales & Schedule

The 12 sessions will run on Tuesdays from 10th September – 26th November, 6-8pm with a celebration event and sharing during the final session.

Action: Please submit a written proposal in response to this commission brief. As the young people will be involved in precuring the right artist, please also submit a brief video proposal pitched at young people. This should be no more than 3 minutes. Your proposals should detail your artistic approach, outline potential content of delivery sessions and examples of your previous work. You may submit links to online portfolios to support your proposal. The deadline for the written and video proposals is noon on Friday 26th July.
